• USPS Postal Rate Changes

    effective January 4, 2010

    General Changes:  with this latest rate change, the Postal Service is implementing both changes in rates (up and down), and also new service classes and definitions. As always, contact us to help you find the best overall service/rate combination for your premium mail fulfillment needs.

    Dimensional Weight Pricing: Packages going to Zones 5-8 and are greater than 1 cubic foot in size are subject to dimensional weight pricing, meaning the size of the box determines your rate, rather than the weight.  The minimum for dimensional weight pricing is the 9lb rate. (For example, if your package is just over 1 cubic foot, but only weighs five pounds, you'll be charged the 9 pound rate instead.)  

    Dimensional Weight is calculated as follows:  (W" x L" x H")/194 = Dim Weight.
    Example: (12" x 12" x 12")/194 = 8.9 lbs --> round up to 9 pound rate.

    About Zones:  zones are determined by zip code. To determine exactly what zone you're in, go to the Postal Service website, type in the first three digits of your zip code, then look for the listing for our zip code 80540.  Note that some of our customers cover broad service areas, and actually span a couple of zones.  Check not only your own zip code, but look at some of the zip codes for the towns on the outer edges of your signal area.
